This guide is to to give a visual representation of how to set up the equipment sent out by the Digital Services Team. This would usually follow a site visit where internet issues have been checked out by the team
1 Find sockets that are available, adapters must be on the same electrical circuit.
2. Plug an ethernet cable into an open port on the router.
3. Plug the other end of the ethernet into the powerline adapter
3. Plug the powerline adapter into a plug near to the router (or wherever possible with the length of the ethernet cable)
4. Plug the other powerline adapter into a socket in a location you would like the internet to be extended to.
5. Press the Pair button underneath both powerline units to sync them together.
6. Plug an ethernet cable into the powerline adapter that is located where you need the internet extended to.
7. Plug it into a laptop to check the internet connection is working. Remove the Ethernet once checked if it is a WIFI enabled Model)
7. If your Powerline adapter isn’t WiFi Enabled then an Access point (WiFi Disc) Will be required.
8. Firstly plug the PoE (shown below) into the plug on the powerline adapter where you need WiFi.
8. Plug an Ethernet into the powerline adapter and plug the other end into the LAN port on the PoE.
9. Plug another Ethernet Cable into the Red POE port on the PoE and the other end of that cable goes to the WiFi Disc in the main Port.
10. Once the blue light has come onto the Disc, wait a few minutes and the internet signal should be up and working.
